Our Social Enterprises

The Limehouse Project delivers a number of extended services through its social enterprise initiatives. As well as training local people in specific career roles and helping to rejuvenate the local economy, the best thing about this arm of our works is that every single penny goes back into developing programmes just for you – our local community.

2. Our Social Enterprises

1. What is a Social Enterprise?

The government defines social enterprises as "businesses with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners."

In other words, all profits generated by our social enterprise companies go directly back into supporting, strengthening and developing our local communities.

So, whether that means using the money to continue much needed education / training programmes, launching new projects, investing money in enhancing community spaces or simply ensuring that we give local families, children and the elderly new opportunities for recreational development, we strive to every penny made is re-invested back into the many different groups of people who make up our community.
