Training & Development

Training & Development - T&D (Formerly LiWETE)

Offers clients (16 years old +), particularly women from a BME background, an opportunity to access mainstream training and employment opportunities, with emphasis on supporting individuals who are socially, economically or socially excluded. Projects are split into a training and job search project; an education project; a community enagagement project; creche facilities and support in volunteering opportunities. Alongside the Advice Team, T&D organises various health-related activities (health promotion events etc) through its Community Engagement Project. They also facilitate recreational and cultural activities, for vulnerable women with school-age children.

T&D actively helps breakdown concerns and barriers faced by clients, particularly women (but not exclusively), when accessing training provisions or looking for employment. Alongside the Advice Team they help empower clients to become personally and financially independent. Support and advice is given on a confidential, individual basis to help with issues which may prevent clients from empowering themselves, while tailoring training programmes which fit individual beneficiaries needs.

The Training & Development Programme holds the Matrix Quality Standard for Information, Advice and Guidance services.
